Son of Travers. Married Jane Anne d/o Rev Edwin Palmer Rector of Modreeny (Killaloe). Issue includes: 1. Rev Richard Philip Homan 1845-1919 Rector of Ballingarry (Killaloe) 2. 2nd daughter Isabella Frances married 22 Jul 1870 Rev Ralph Sadleir Stoney 3. 4th daughter Jane Elizabeth (died 7 Aug 1912 Monkstown Co Dublin). Died 26 Oct 1874.

Ireland, Famine Relief Commission Papers, 1844-47 - Ancestry.ca : 1. July 18, 1846 - Document written by Rev. Homan, rector of Modreeny, stating that the subscriptions for Modreeny parish were distinct and separate from the subscriptions for the Cloghjordan portion of the parish. 2. September 22, 1846 - Abstract of letter from Rev. Homan, urging the immediate recommencement of the public works.

Tombstone in Modreeny churchyard: "Erected to the memory of the Revd William Travers Homan, Rector of Modreeny for 43 years, died 26th October 1874 aged 73 years. Also of Jane his beloved wife, died 29th August 1864 aged 50 years. Also of Catherine Barrett, their second daughter, died 9th January 1838 aged 4 yrs. Also of Edwin Palmer, their second son who died at Madras, India, 26th Feb 1862 aged 26 years."

Probate: The will (with one codicil) of the Rev William Travers Homan late of Modreeny Glebe Co Tipperary clerk who died 26 October 1874 at Allworth Abbeyleix [the home of his eldest daughter] proved at PR by William Barrett Homan of Whitehall Co Tipperary [a son] one of the executors. Effects under 3,000 pounds.
