Rev. Chalon Jackson, son of Ziba and Phoebe Lyon Jackson, was born in Knox County, Ohio. He came to MO abt the time of the Civil War and purchased a farm in Baker twp, Linn Co MO, which he owned at his death. Was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for about 70 years, and he was their preacher for many years. He married 4 times. First was Nancy Cosner, who died at age 24,(1817-1841), married in Ohio on 25 Sept 1835. Second, Eliza Corwin, died age 35,(1817-1853), married 23 Sept 1843. Third, Mary Phillips Davidson, died age 37,(1829-1866), married on 13 Aug 1853. Fourth, he married Charlotte Leonard. 14 children were recorded, reared 9. A good neighbor and a christian who lived his faith. Services by Rev Ed Maguire. Survived by aging wife, Charlotte.
