"Water Grist Mill...wch Mill with the lands formerly belonged to Thomas Newton and by him sold to Augustine Higgins, and conveyed after the decease of the said Augustine to Penlope Higgins, Daughter and sole heir of said Augustine Higgins as by a Deed bearing date of 27 July 1720...fell after the decease of said Penelope (among other lands and Negroes) to Isabella Elliott and Penelope Osborn as coheirs of Penelope Higgins, ...after equal division of the Lands and Negroes between Isabella and Penelope, the Mill together with 3 A. of land fell to and was allotted John Elliott and Isabella his wife as part of said Isabella's Estate....[sell] the Water Grist Mill and 3 A. of land to Robert Vaulx."    fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France & Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c., And in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty; Between SABELLA ELLIOTT of County of Westmorland, Widow, of one part and RICHD: BARNES, of County of RICHMOND, Gentleman, of other part; Witnesseth that in consideration of the natural life & affection which said SABELLA hath and beareth to her several Daughters herein after particularly mention'd, as also for the sum of Five pounds currt. money to sd. SABELLA ELLIOTT in hand paid by RICHARD BARNES, the receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge, bath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto sd. BARNES his heirs all that tract of land being in Parish of Washington in County of Westmorland containing by estimation One hundred and ninety acres, be the same more or less, formerly purchased by JOHN HIGGINS of JOHN BUTTON, from from sd. HIGGINS descended to PENELOPE, his Daughter, late Wife of DANIEL McCARTY, Gent., deceased, by whose death the same became vested in SABELLA ELLIOTT, And all houses orchards, profits & appurtenances to the land & premisses belonging; To have and to hold the parcel of land and appurtenances unto RICHD: BARNES his heirs to the general uses, intents & purposes hereinafter particularly expressed and to no other, that is to say, to the use and behoof of said SABELLA ELLIOTT during the term of her natural life without impeachment for any manner of waste and from and after the decease of SABELLA ELLIOTT to the use and behoof of MARTHA ELLIOTT, Daughter of SABELLA ELLIOTT and the heirs of her body to be begotten, And for default of such heirs of her body, to the use and behoof of BETTY ELLIOTT, another Daughter of SABELLA ELLIOTT and the heirs of her body to be begotten, and for default of such heirs of her body, then to the use & behoof of MILLIE ELLIOT, also Daughter of SABELLA ELLIOT, and the heirs of her body to be begotten.    IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen. I SABELLAH ELLIOTT of Parish of Washington in the County of Westmorland being very sick and weak but in perfect sense and memory of mind, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following; viz., Principally & first of all I give and bequeath my Sole to Almighty God that gave it and my body to the Earth and as touching the worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God in this life to bless me with, I give and bequeath in the manner and form following,
   Imprimis. I give unto my Beloved Daughter, MARTHA ELLIOT, two good feather Beds with furniture, part of which furniture is to be a Cotton Counter Pane of her own working now in the House; with a pair of fine white Sheets with a couple of Pillows & Pillow Cases and one pair of brown Sheets.
   Item. I give and bequeath unto my Beloved Daughter, MILDRED, a young bay Gelding
   Item. I give and bequeath unto my Beloved Daughter, BETTY, and MILDRED ELLIOT, all my Estate of whatsoever consisting (excepting the legacies above mentioned) to be equally divided between them, to them and their heirs but if either of my Daughters should die without heirs then such part to be equally divided between the Survivours; and my Will is that my Estate be divided as above by the discretion of my Executor.
   Item. I give unto my Daughters, BETTY & MILDRED, the Legcies left me by my late Son, AUGUSTINE ELLIOT's Last Will and Testament to be divided between them as above. I likewise constitute and ordain Mr. RICHARD BARNES of RICHMOND to be my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testment as being the only one by me made as Witness my hand this Eight day of December 1750

County the 28th day of May Arm() Dom 1751 This Last Will and Testament of SABELLAH ELLIOTT, deced., was at January Court last proved by the Oath of JNO: MUSCHETT one of the witnesses thereto, & was then order'd to be lodged for further proof, And now at this Court, RICHARD BARNS, the Exor. therein mentioned, came into Court and desired the sd.
   Will might be recorded (he first having taken the Oath by Law appointed for Executors) and then order'd to be recorded; And upon the motion of the sd. Exor. & his performg. what the Law in such cases require, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form
