Richard Leon Barrios, Sr

Richard "Dick" Barrios, "Uncle Dick", Beau Frere (Brother in law in Cajun French) married Gladys Horrigan. Several years Gladys' age, Dick was a salesman for Haggerty's furniture and later an Orleans Parish deputy Sheriff. While with Haggerty, the family moved to Tuscaloosa AL until his retirement. Dick was the life of the party at family gatherings. He was of Cajun French/Spanish heritage. Dick fathered two sons Richard Jr. and Terrell Barrios. In later years he suffered with cancer and at one point lost his vocal chords. Dick will be fondly remembered as a good, kind hearted man with a big grin, who truly enjoyed his time with family and friends..
