First, to correct some misunderstandings. Those Drakes entered their pedigree in the Visitations of London 1633-35, not in the Visitations of Huntingdonshire. They *are* the same family found in Somersetshire, but in the parish of Cheddon Fitzpaine, not Chedar. There is a parish called Chedar, but this is not where they were located. This is a mistake in Boddie's book. The visitation states that they were living in Bread Street ward, London. I prefer to call them the Drakes of Bread Street to avoid confusion.
The visitation takes the family back to Richard Drake of Cheddon FP who married Christian Fawcett, daughter (and presumed heiress) of Robert Fawcett of Isle Abbot, Somserset, about 1570. Richard Drake died 1594.
