From "Some Descendants of John Moore of Sudbury, Mass", by Ethel Stanwood Bolton, B.A., of Shirley, Mass.
Richard was born in Sudbury, Sept. 12, 1670. He married Mary, daughter of Samuel and Mary Collins of Middletown, CT.
He lived for a time in Needham (MA), but on June 6, 1714, he sold his farm of 260 acres in the south part of town, and in August bought a house and land in Oxford (MA), of Samuel Hagburn (Worcester Co. Deeds, Vol. 1, pp. 33, 35). He afterward bought much land in Oxford (Worcester Co. Deeds, Vol. I, pp. 30, 31,33), and finally became the largest landowner in the southern part of that town. He was the 2nd licensed inn-holder, the 1st Justice of the Peace, and also the 1st Representative. He was also Town Clerk, Selectman, and Treasurer.
His wife died July 12, 1760; and he died November 19, 1767, aged 96.
