Captain John Jacob Moore

From “Some Descendants of John Moore of Sudbury, Mass.”, by Ethel Stanwood Bolton, B.A., of Shirley, Mass.

Jacob Moore was born in Sudbury (MA), 4/28/1645. He married, 5/29/1667, Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Looker (Loker), of Sudbury. In 1678, Henry deeded his whole estate, "for love", to his son and daughter, Jacob and Elizabeth Moore (Middlesex Co. Deeds, Vol. 10, p. 93).

Jacob, in 1697, deeded the same, which consisted of 130 acres to his eldest son, Jacob, for a like consideration (Middlesex Co. Deeds, Vol. 37, p. 517). A few months later, he also gave Jacob 1/2 of his homestead farm (Middlesex Co. Deeds, Vol. 37, p. 521). In 1716, Jacob disposed of the rest of his property, dividing it between his other sons, Samuel, Daniel, Jonathan, James, Richard and Nathaniel (Middlesex Co. Deeds, Vol. 18, pp. 137, 138, 139, 206, 237).

Biography

Jacob Moore was born on 28 Apr, 1645, in Sudbury, Massachusetts. He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Rice) Moore. Jacob married Elizabeth Loker on 29 May, 1667, in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Jacob and his wife, Elizabeth, had 12 children during their marriage. He died on 23 Mar, 1716, in his hometown of Sudbury, Massachusetts.
