From Meet the Planters – Parsons The following information is taken from Dr. Roy’s Book:

The first Thomas Parsons of which we know was Great Milton, Oxfordshire, England. He married Catharine (of) Sydenham and had Thomas, Hugh and Richard

Thomas Parsons, of Gt. Milton, Devonshire, married Catherine (of) Sydenham, by whom he had sons, Thomas 2nd, Hugh and Richard

Hugh (sic: Richard) m. a Pierpont, and had a son John of London.

Thomas 2nd, was the father of Sir Thomas Parsons Knt. who married 1614, Lady Catherine Ratcliffe of ancient lineage. (See New Eng. Hist. and Gen. Register.)
