Pfc. U.S. Army, Korean War-Pfc. Veld was killed in action by small arms fire on 6-15-1953 while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with the 1st Battalion of the 5th Regimental Combat Team near "Outpost Harry" in North Korea.
He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Nick E. Veld of 167 & Vincennes Avenue, South Holland, Illinois, and a 1949 graduate of Thornton Twp.H.S, and he enlisted with the Army on January 4, 1952.
