Richard Nathaniel Wright

"Richard Wright was an American author of sometimes controversial novels, short stories, poems and non-fiction. Much of his literature concerns racial themes, especially those involving the plight of African Americans during the late 19th to mid 20th centuries. In 1941 he married Ellen Poplar nee Frieda Poplowitz. In 1946 the family moved to Paris and he became a French citizen in 1947. Richard and Ellen had two daughters, Julia and Rachel.
