Robert Bartlett

Robert BARTLETT b 1762 probably had a first wife about 1782 when he lived in Fauquier Co, VA and his first 4 children (Sterling 1783, Rebecca c1784, Nancy and Mary Ann) were born to her. She probably died after they moved to Harrison Co, VA in 1785. Robert married 1797 Susannah HAYMOND (dau of William HAYMOND and Casandra CLELLAND). There are Harrison Co, VA records from 1787 through 1809 for Robert BARTLETT; and New Madrid, MO deeds in 1809 and 1811. Robert and wife Susannah sold the Harrison Co, VA land (where Robert has resided) on 10 Apr 1810. 1818 and 1819 New Madrid, MO deeds indicate Robert is deceased by then. Children Sterling, Rebecca and Nancy stayed in Harrison Co, VA; children Mary Ann (m John L SOMMERVILLE); Thomas, Rowena (m Daniel WATSON) and Sarah (m John LAFONT) were all in MO. Note: Rowena d 1869 Madrid Bend, Fulton Co, KY - across the river). There are probably some more children of Robert BARTLETT - perhaps in Harrison Co, VA and New Madrid Co, MO.
