About Robert Bland, Esq., of Leeming
From the book: Collections for a history of the ancient family of Bland, published 1828, and available online for free from Open Archive.
The pedigree of the Blands of Leeming is verified by the Visitation of Yorkshire, dated Aug. 13, 1666. The arms of the Blands were recorded at the College of Arms. Robert Bland, Esq., of Leeming, was a younger son of the Bland family from Bland's Gill, Sedbergh Parish, Yorkshire, from which the family took its name. Robert married the daughter of Gale, Esq. of Deighton, Yorkshire. They had three children, a son Richard and two daughters, Margaret and Isabella. Robert Bland was buried at the church in Burneston, "with his ancestors," according to his will.
