Will of Robert Bryan
An abstract of the will of Robert Bryan, son of Thomas and Frances (Bowling) Bryan was made for Evelyn B. Baldwin and is as follows:
Robert Bryan of Aylesbury, bucks., draper. Will dated 18 may 1626, proved 16 November, 1626, by the sole executrix named. “Whereas I stand seized to me and my heirs forever of and in all that message, situate in Ailesbury, near the market place, now in the tenure of me and my brother Alexander Bryan and also of and in that Gandlehouse with the appurtenances situates in Ailesbury in a lane there called Silver lane and also in the tenure of me and my brother, bequeathed the same to my son Thomas Bryan and to his heir, and for want of such issue, then unto my four daughters Dorothy, Amy, Mary and Francis, their heirs and assigns forever. Provided always that Dorothy my wife shall have the custody of my said son during his minority and shall enjoy the rents and profits towards the bringing up of my said son and daughters, until my said son shall have accomplished the age of 23 years. Whereas I also stand seized of and in the message, situate in Ailebury, now in the occupation of William Cave, also of and in 9 acres of arreble land, lying in the common fields of Walton in the parish of Ailebury, I bequeath the same to my four daughters Dorothy Bryan, Amy Bryan, Mary Bryan and Francis Bryan and their heirs forever, provide nevertheless and said Dorothy my now wife, have the profits of this same until Francis , my youngest daughter, shall accomplish her age of 15 years.”
