Robert Dougan, Sr. (?-1786, Newberry SC) married Margaret __ Park (widow of Samuel Park, d. <1839, Penna). Children:

1. Col. Thos. Dugan 1748-1822
2. Maj. James Dugan (?-1781)
3. Maj. Robert Dugan (?-1781)
4. William Dugan (?-?).

Before the Revolution, Robert, Sr. and family had moved to the Indian Creek area on the Enoree River in present-day Newberry County, SC. Two of Robert Sr.'s sons, James and Robert, were massacred at or near their home by a band of Tories in 1781.
