Robert Alexander Evans

The Robert Evans, born in VA on 6/4/1756, listed on Winslowtree.com and several of the RootsWeb's World Connect Project entries as the son of Robert Evans and Mary Hoge is questionable if the information on the marriage to Mary Cruse and birthdates of their children is accurate. While the 30 year age difference with Mary is possible and fathering the first born at age 63 is also possible, the last three of the 8 children supposedly born to this marriage were born after the recorded 1826 date of death for Robert. RWWCP entry 20494 has this Robert, same b/d stats married on 9/18/1792 in Augusta Co., VA to a Mary J. Murphy b. 1758. Most logical entry is 2327 which list b. 1767 in VA and m. 9/17/1792 to Nancy Jenny Murphy b. 1775 in MD. The 1767 date of birth fits with the naming sequence in Robert Evans' will (See Winslowtree.com), if the children are named in birth order. Robert is after Dorothy (1765) and before David (1772). However, this Robert Evans (aka Robert Alexander Evans) is on entry 28373 and his DOB is listed as 11/1765 in Wales. FamilySearch.org lists Robert Evans/Nancy Murphy with birth in VA but the submitter is LEvans. . same as RWWCP source.
