About Robert Wilson Glenn, II
His father, himself, and his oldest son all had the same name. Born in Manti, Utah in 1856, Robert Wilson Glenn II lived in Glenwood, Utah until the Indian Wars forced his father's family to move further north in 1867. They moved to Wallsburg at the upper end of Provo Canyon, where Robert, as the eldest son, from the age of 17 helped care for his widowed mother and siblings following his father's untimely death.
After his marriage he owned a store in Wallsburg for many years, and helped care for all of the widows of the town at his own expense. In 1905 he moved to the Provo Bench, where he owned a very nice 60-acre farm, then in 1907 he traded the farm for a store, cafe, & meat market in the mining town of Bingham Canyon, Utah, and moved his family there. He was considered one of the pioneers of Bingham. Robert and his wife Vilate lived in Bingham Canyon for about 20 years, then moved to a small farm in the Salt Lake Valley at 39th South and 2nd West, where the interstate now runs.
