About Robert Hardie
There is so little information about Robert that I wonder if he was a soldier in one of the Highland regiments.
An Ancestry tree shows Robert migrating to Australia and dying in Melbourne, however PROV records clearly show Euphemia migrating alone with Jane in 1861, and Robert died 1859 in Scotland. The 1861 census for Edinburgh shows Euphemia and Jane as lodgers in that year before embarking for Port Phillip.
Family Search tree shows Robert Hardie b.1831 d.1859; parents John Hardie and Margaret Hardie (Paton); wife Euphemia Beaton; daughter Jane Garrett (born Hardie); siblings John Warden Hardie, Jane Hardie, Barbara Hardie, Robert Hardie, Margaret Weir (born Hardie), James Hardie.
