About Robert Harper, II
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/228919418/robert-harper
Robert Harper II lived in Philadelphia at a place called Tacony Creek and had three boys, Jonathan, Jesse, and Evan, who were all born about the time of the Revolutionary War. Robert was a blacksmith. His sons Jonathan and Jesse also took up the trade and both moved with their wives to Upper Providence, PA where they jointly operated a blacksmith shop (in the 1800 tax list for Upper Providence Township, however, they are both listed as "farmers"). In 1807 there was a trade embargo against France and England that devastated the shipping-based economy of the Philadelphia area and the brothers pulled up stakes and moved to Delaware where they farmed for a few years. Eventually they returned to Upper Providence. They both died fairly young, Jonathan in 1818 and Jesse in 1823.
Robert Harper II and Hannah Thomas were married at Byberry Meeting on April 24, 1771 (Source: "The Livezey Family" by Charles Harper Smith; a copy of their marriage certificate is attached to this profile). This Robert Harper seems to have been an Overseer at the Providence Quaker Meeting (see Photo) The date: 6/28/1808 (appointed)
