Robert Isham, the first of the family that suppressed the de before his name, d. in 1424, leaving a son,
ROBERT ISHAM, of the age of 22 years. He m. ELIZABETH, dau. and co-heir to Aston, of Knoston, alias Knuston, near Irchester, in Northamtonshire. He d. about the 14th of Edward IV., leaving, 1. William, his eldest son, of whom hereafter. 2. Robert, who was prebendary of Lincoln from 1467 to 1501. 3. Richard. 4. John.
William Isham, the eldest son of Robert, was one of those gentlemen of Northamptonshire to whom Rich. III. sent a letter, requiring a loan of (English pounds)40. His name likewise occurs upon other accounts, on the lists of the nobility and gentry of the county. He m. Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Braunspath, who d. 20 Sept., 18th Edward IV., and he d. 13 June, 2nd Henry VIII., 1510, leaving.

8. Robert Isham, the first we observe to have de left out before his name. Contemporary with Robert, perhaps his brother, was John Isham, prior of Wymondham in Norfolk: he was admitted July 18, 1416, and governed that house four years. This Robert died March 13, 1424, leaving a son named
9. ROBERT ISHAM, of the age of 22 years: He married ELIZABETH, daughter and co-heir of ---ASTON of Knoston, Alias Nuston, near Irchester, in Northamptonshire. He died about the 14th of Edward IV. leaving 1. William, his eldest son, of whom hereafter; 2. Robert, who was prebendary of Lincoln from 1467 to 1501-3; 3. Richard, who died before the 16th of May 1491, as appears from the probate of his will; and by Alice his wife, he left issue Richard, who died Nov. 24, 1493; Robert, heir to his brother, and a daughter named Dorothy: 4. John, who was of Broughton, and married Jane, daughter of Robert Kynnesman of Loddington. Richard, his son and heir, married Isabella, daughter of Drugo Brudenel, Esq.
