+Pricilla Washington
Robert Lanier, named first in the will of his father, and probably the oldest son,
was born in Charles City County about 1678; he married quite late in life, Priscilla,
the daughter of Richard Washington, in Surry County, Virginia about 1727. She
was the sister of Elizabeth Washington who had married his brother Sampson Lanier
some twenty years earlier.

Robert Lanier "lived in Surry County all his life", but left no records there except his will.
The plantation where he lived may have been given to him by his father, but any record
of the deed is lost with many other Charles City records. The land was in Surry, and lay
next to the land of his brother, John Lanier; both tracts being on "the Well Branch" and
having a common mark "to a corner tree in Mr. Henry Harrison’s Line."

His will was dated September 23, 1753, and probated in Surry County, May 18, 1756.
He names his wife Priscilla, sons John, Thomas, and Robert, who all seem to be of age,
and his daughter Priscilla, not yet of age. To Thomas he leaves 100 acres in Brunswick
County (now Greensville County), Virginia, on the north side of Three Creeks, a Negro
man named Sam, and a woman named Jone; to Robert he leaves 100 acres in Brunswick
County on the south side of Three Creeks, and a Negro boy called Jimmy, also a Negro
woman called Lucy; and to Priscilla he leaves two Negro girls named Cube and Sall, and
money when she arrives at the age of eighteen or marries.

Priscilla, the daughter of Robert and Priscilla (Washington) Lanier,
became of age in 1760, and was released by her Guardian, John Lanier,
her uncle. No further records have been found for her.
