1824: Robert bought 80.13 acres in Athens Co., OH.

1840: Robert & Elizabeth sold William L. Nickell 159.97 acres for $200 on Oct 31, 1840. This was a very reasonable price since his son (James & Nancy CLAYPOOL) sold 82 acres for $1000 on Sept 3, 1839.

1849: Death of Robert Nickell.

1850: Vinton County is created from Athens and other Counties. Robert was deceased, but his wife, Elizabeth, and Sarah were living together, as well as several of Robert's clan living in Vinton County, OH. Robert's children James, William, Robert and Andrew were also living there at the time. Note: Unable to locate Vinton Cty, OH grave of Robert Nickell. He died in Athens Cty, OH in 1849. This area became Vinton Cty in 1850. Possibly Old McArthur Cemetery. Assistance welcome!
