Robert John Nye

Robert J. Nye, a resident of Everett and formerly of Charlestown, passed into eternal life on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness. He was 71 years old.
Robert was born in Boston on May 12, 1941, a son of the late Fernard and Florence (Butler) Nye. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended the Boston Public School system. Robert worked for several years for the City of Boston Traffic Department and then began working in 1985 for the City of Everett Housing Authority in the maintenance department before retiring in 1998.

Robert is the beloved husband of 49 years to Eileen (McNamee) Nye. He is the devoted father of John M. Nye and his wife Kathleen of Peperell, Diane Marie Boudrot and her husband Steven of Billerica and Robert J. Nye and his wife Jeannine of New Hampshire. He is the loving Grandfather of 6 grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Gerald Nye of Charlestown, Edith Reardon of Brockton and the late Ralph Nye, Florence Newinger, George Nye and Edna Nye.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's Funeral on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
