Son of Isaac Royce and Elizabeth Lathrop. Born Sept 4, 1674 in Wallingford, CT. Died there June 15, 1741.

m. (1) Abigail d/o Thomas Benedict and Mary Messenger on 11 Mar 1709 in Wallingford[2]
m (2) Joanna Gaylord, who remarried twice after Robert's death.[3]

Robert Royce. Born on 4 Sep 1674 in Wallingford, CT. Robert died in Wallingford, CT, on 15 Jun 1741; he was 66.

On 11 May 1709 when Robert was 34, he first married Abigail Benedict, daughter of Thomas Benedict (ca 1641-20 Nov 1688) & Mary Messenger (ca 1642-bef 1699), in Wallingford, CT. Born ca 1682 in Norwalk, CT.16 Abigail died ca 1713.

Children of Robert and Abigail (Benedict) Royce:

• i. Elizabeth Royce, b. ca. 1709, d. 14 May 1770 at Waterbury, m. there 10 Nov 1726 Joseph Judd of Waterbury;
• ii. Abigail Royce, m. Moses Baldwin of Saybrook; and
• iii. Martha Royce, b. ca. 1712, d. 22 Mar 1791 æ. 79 at Watertown, m. at Waterbury 26 Mar 1730 Edmund Scott of Waterbury.30

Robert second married Joanna Gaylord, daughter of Joseph Gaylord (13 May 1649-2 Feb 1712) & Sarah Stanley (18 Feb 1651-12 Feb 1711).

• i. Hannah, b. 1 Jul 1716, d. 16 Feb 1777 at Wallingford, m. there 12 Nov 1739 Ephraim Hough;
• ii. Esther, b. 20 Jan 1718, d. 6 Sep 1750 at Wallingford, m. there 17 Mar 1740 Andrew Andrews;
• iii. Lydia, b. 20 Nov 1719, d. 26 Mar 1748 at Wallingford, m. there 8 Oct 1740 Ebenezer Cowles; and
• iv. Sarah, b. 4 Apr 1723, m. at Wallingford 5 May 1742 Nehemiah Manross.30
