Note: sources indicate this Robert Taliaferro died by June 1688, when his widow, Sarah, married Samuel Sallis & was granted administration of his estate:

=======
Robert TALIAFERRO, (II) born in 1667 and died (June 6, 1726,) at St. Paul's Parish, King George, Virginia. Many sources have his death date as 1736-06-06, but this is wrong. Another researcher sends:
Portions of his estate are sold by the coroner in 1737, and this is sometimes interpreted that he must have been dead since the coroner was involved. But this was not the case. He owed money to the Sheriff of Caroline. Under Virginia Law at the time, the Coroner assumed the role of Sheriff in legal matters normally handled by the Sheriff when the Sheriff was a party. Since Robert II owed the money to the Sheriff, the Coroner enforced the Court order to sell slaves to settle the debt.
- Margaret BUCKNER (The Taliaferro & Sherman book suggests that his wife's last name was Buckner. )
Notes
- from "Historic Georgia Families" by L W Rigsby: A deed in Essex Co VA, dated 1687, shows that Robert Taliaferro and Francis Taliaferro and their wives, Sarah and Elizabeth, sold 300 acres, part of the land bequeathed to said Sarah and Elizabeth by John Catlett, their father.
- Robert Had a land Grant on the Rappahannock adjoining the land of Henry CORBIN and Mr. GRYMES, which was due him, the said "Robert TALIAFERRO Juniur", as the Grandson of Mr. GRYMES
