Robert Young

• History of Essex County, NJ. Pg. 372. He was born in Scotland in 1663. He died on Nov. 7,1726. He m. with SARAH BALDWIN, dau. of Benjamin Baldwin and Hannah Sargeant amd they resided in Newark, Essex county, New Jersey. He was one of the Scotchmen welcomed by the town, with Clizbe and Nesbit. He was perhaps one of those given to Pitlochi and Barclay, and if not banished, a companion of the prisoners. He was Sheriff in 1696 and Trustee, named in the grant from the Proprietors of New Jersey, with John Curtis, John Treat, and Theoph. Pierson, to hold the "small tract alloted for the buying place," and for no other purpose forever. He died at age 63. "By a permit from the successors of said proprietors,a highway has desecrated his grave for 30 years."

Children were: David, John, Jonathan, Robert, and Stephen.
