Roberta Mae Bachman

TRAIL — Roberta M. Sommers, 79, of Trail, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born July 18, 1938, in Wayne County to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Snyder) Bachman, and married Stanley Sommers on Oct. 19, 1958. He died Feb. 8, 2012.

She was a homemaker, and a member of First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek and Swiss Wheelers Camping Club. She enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Dale Sommers of Trail, Lisa Gress of Millersburg and Lona (Tim) Smith of Pataskala; grandchildren, Kimberly (Brian) Budd, Kasey (Steve) Hill, Cearra Smith and Breanna Smith; great-granddaughters, Sophia Budd, Olivia Budd and Estella Budd and was waiting the arrival of her fourth great-granddaughter in April; her brother, Eugene Bachman of Orrville; and her sister, Sandra (Charles) Kutz of North Lawrence.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Delores Troyer; and an infant sister.

Services will be Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with pastor Darcy Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s United Church of Christ Church Cemetery in Walnut Creek.
