Roger de Mowbray, III

House of Mowbray on Wikipedia It has been said that the Mowbrays governing center in the North was a small castle in Burton-in-Lonsdale.

"This was a motte castle with two baileys. In 1322 it was confiscated from the Mowbrays who had been in opposition to King Edward II."
