Ronald Peffers (1938 – 2012)

Brief overview:

Ronald 'Ron' (74) a well-known vintage car enthusiast who belonged to the Crankhandle club, was shot in the shoulder on his smallholding near Atlantis in the Western Cape, on 2nd November 2012. The perpetrators had gained access to the house by breaking in through a window. Ron's wife, Amanda, was away visiting their daughter in Hout Bay at the time. Ron was taken to the Wesfleur Hospital in Atlantis where he passed away. His daughter, Siobhan, is married to Gavin Alford, who took over ownership of the Concorde Cars motor dealership in after his own father, Colin, was shot and killed in Hout Bay in 2008. Ron is survived by his wife and two children.

Police spokesman Captain Frederick van Wyk said one person had been taken in for questioning over the shooting.
