About Rosa Marie Licht - Bein
Rosa Marie's first marriage to merchant Alfred Bein was sadly short lived who died early at 42. Together directing a Berlin subsidery of her Father's (Alfred Abraham Gerngross) business Gerngross, which between 1880 - 1910 become Vienna's largest department store during the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy, with main offices at Mariahilfer Strasse 42-44. The store was built between 1902-1904 by architects Fellner & Helmer who were internationally acclaimed theater designers.Rosa Maria and Alfred had two daughters together Anne marie and Erika.
Rosa Marie met Julius Gustav Licht in Berlin and they married in March 1910. Rosa Marie's two daughters Anne-marie and Erika were both adopted by Julius and carried his surname as theirs. Ref: Vienna - Berlin The Art of Two Cities. Prestel.
