About Rotlinda

Bastard daughter of king Hugh and his lover, Rotrude (Roza), Rotlinda was married to count Elisiard.

She appears in a donation done by Hugh and Lothar on 29th March 945, of lands near Tortona and three mills in Pavia.

After the fall of Hugh (945) there are no news of Elisiard anymore. Years later Rotlinda is found married to Bernard, count of Pavia and Parma. They are longtime supporters of Berengar and his son Adelbert, but after the latter's final defeat (966), they found a church, the canonica of SS. Trinità in Pavia, to which they donate large part of their possessions. Days later they are stripped of titles and remaining possessions by Otto I.

Bernard and Rotlinda are able to be pardoned by Otto II and have their possessions returned; they will again donate them to their church (976).
