Rowena L. Garman

DALTON-- Rowena L. Bachman, 78, of Dalton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Aultman Orrville Hospital.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1937, in North Lawrence, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob and Irene (Brown) Garman, and was united in marriage to Glen Bachman on October 22, 2000. He survives.

She was a graduate of Smithville High School and was a homemaker most of her life. Rowena was a charter member of West Hill Baptist Church in Wooster, where she was active in Caleb's Kin senior adult ministry. Rowena enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

In addition to her husband, Glen, she is survived by a daughter, Rene' (Willy) Mack of Orrville; grandchildren, Ryan Mack and Shane Mack; great-grandchildren, Chloe' Mack, Mia Mack and McCartney Mack-Sorg; stepchildren, Debbie (Larry) Baker of Shreve, Richard (Arlene) Bachman of Snellville, Ga., Vicki (Kevin) Coyle of Akron, Ronald Bachman of Mansfield, Russell Bachman of Wooster, and Neil (Joy) Bachman of Shreve; 14 step grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Luanne Power of Marshallville and brothers, Neil (Mary) Garman of North Lawrence, and Gar (Donetta) Garman of Osceola, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at West Hill Baptist Church, 2241 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. A meal of comfort will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the Celebration of Life Service. Cremation will take place following the services.

Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 4-7 p.m., or from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at the funeral home web site at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
