It is important to note there were TWO SEPARATE descendants of West Harris Sr. who were named ROWLAND HARRIS. Both were born in Granville County, and they both married women named Elizabeth, BUT they are NOT the same people. Rowland Harris 1754-1815 was the SON of West Harris Sr. and Rowland Harris 1765-1827 was the GRANDSON of West Harris Sr.

Sarah is the first wife of Rowland Harris 1765-1827. Marriage Bond between Rowland Harris and Sarah Daniel was issued 21 August 1783 in Granville, North Carolina. This is consistent with family records of Francis Gray Harris of Thomasville, North Carolina, and Early North Carolina Census 1784

The second wife was Elizabeth "Betsy" Reavis, and their Marriage Bond was issued 09 Nov 1794, also in Granville County, North Carolina

Sarah's husband Rowland Harris was the Grandson of West Harris Sr. and the son of Isham Harris and Martha Mabel Green. Isham Harris was eldest son West Harris Sr. and Mary Turner. Isham, and he was the only son of West Harris that remained in Granville County, located on the northern border of North Carolina. Isham had a son born in Granville County in 1765 who he named Rowland Harris. This Rowland Harris was born, lived, married, raised a family, and died in 1827 in Granville County area of North Carolina. It was he who married Sarah Daniel in Granville County.

Court Action: August 1831, Per Will Book 12, page287, Elizabeth Harris petitioned court, states her husband died without will and letters of adminstr went to Samuel J. Reavis. She asks her third as dower rights - allotted Feb 3, 1832 - included 48 1/2 acres and dwelling house.

Will1: Wife Martha to receive Chalk Level Tract of 200 acres. Reputed grandson Anderson Green Harris (not of age) to receive tract of 75 acres. Eight children listed, plus son-in-law Samuel Jones Reavis.
