It is important to note there were TWO SEPARATE descendants of West Harris Sr. who were named ROWLAND HARRIS. Both were born in Granville County, and they both married women named Elizabeth, BUT they are NOT the same people. Rowland Harris 1754-1815 was the SON of West Harris Sr. and Rowland Harris 1765-1827 was the GRANDSON of West Harris Sr.
The first Rowland Harris was born in 1754 in Granville County, but he left Granville County with his father West Harris and family, and they moved down near the southern border of North Carolina to Anson County 1773-1774, and four years later Montgomery County was formed from Anson County in 1778.
The Harris Family Bible states that this Rowland Harris, SON of West Harris Sr. and Mary Turner, married Elizabeth Kimball and their first son Daniel Harris was born in Montgomery County in 1785, making the approximate date of their marriage to be about 1783, about the same time that Sarah Daniel married a Rowland Harris in Granville County.

Rowland married Elizabeth Kimbell on Nov 9, 1794 in Granville Co., NC. Elizabeth was born before 1771 in Washington Co., GA.
