Funeral services for Roy Eugene (Gene) Sammons, 67, of Blythe, Ga., who died

Monday in a local hospital after a three-week illness, will be conducted at 4

p.m. today at Elliott Sons Chapel by the Rev. J. Edward Adams and the Rev.

Wilson Smith.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

A native of Glascock County, he had lived in Richmond County for the past 45

years and was a retired electrician. He was a member of the International

Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Locan No. 1579, and was the son of the late

Charlie Benjamin and Cordie Coxwell Sammons.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Barnes Sammons, Blythe; a daughter Mrs.

Carvil J. Chalk, Augusta; a step-daughter, Mrs. J. J. Rolison, Augusta; a

step-son, G. T. Barnes, North Augusta; a brother, Grady Sammons, Augusta; four

grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Nick Marchisio, James C. Carter, Delmer Owens, J. H.

Hebbard, B. F. Bilton and Fred Schmidt.

Members of Local Union No. 1579 will serve as honary pallbearers.
