Royal Gould Wilder

Royal Gould Wilder, eldest son and 2nd child of James Mason Wilder and Angelina Albina Day, was born in Franklin Co., New York on Feb. 20, 1847. He married on Mar. 16, 1893 in Spring Valley, Fillmore Co., Minnesota with MRS. ELECTA M. (Averill) HUTCHINSON (preb. married to Sage Hutchinson). She was born 1858 in Wisconsin.

Her children were: Ethel H.Hutchinson (1882; m. Willlard Stevens, dau. Melba. Ethel died 1902), Clyde C. Hutchinson (1884), Ray Harrison Hutchinson (3/6/1889) and twin May Harriet Hutchinson (3/6/1889).

Children with Royal: Angelina Bernice Wilder (1894-1957), baby girl Wilder (3/30/1897; d same day), and Susan E. Wilder (8/4/1898-1/23/1899).

He was a farmer and owned and operated a store in Spring Valley, Fillmore Co., Minnesota.

Brother to Almanzo Wilder. Royal appears in the book titled "Farmer Boy" by Almanzo's wife, Laura Ingalls Wilder.

• 1895 census: Royal G. Wilder (46, b NY) and wife Electa (38, b Wisc); in Spring Valley, Fillmore Co., Minnesota w their dau. Burnice (sb Bernice; 9m, b MN). Also there are wife's children by 1st marriage Ethel Hutchinson (13, b MN), Clyde Hutchinson (11, b MN), May Hutchinson (6, twin, b MN) and Ray Hutchinson (6, twin, b MN). He is a general merchant.
• 1910 census: Royal G. Wilder (63, b NY) and wife Electa M. (52, b Wisc); in Spring Valley, MN w ch. Clyde C. Hutchinson (26), Rae H. Hutchinson (21), Mae H. Hutchinson (21), Angline B. Wilder (15). Also there is Ethel's dau. Melba L. Stevens (5, b MN).
