Rudolf I.'s father was Heinrich II. Hachberg, von and his mother is Anna Usenberg, von. His paternal grandfather was Heinrich I. Hachberg, von and his paternal grandmother is Agnes. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Heinrich III., Friedrich, Hermann, tochter, Agnes, Kunigunde and Elisabeth. He died on January 10th, 1314.
