About Rush Limbaugh

brief biography

Rush Limbaugh, The Man, The Myth, The Legend.... A Man who had Talent, on Loan, from God....

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was an American radio talk show host, political commentator, an opinion leader of American conservatives particularly influential in matters affecting the Republican Party. Since he was 16 Limbaugh worked a series of disc jockey jobs. His talk show began in 1984 at Sacramento radio station KFBK, featuring his ongoing format of political commentary and listener calls. In 1988 Limbaugh began broadcasting his show nationally from radio station WABC in New York, New York. He lastly lived in West Palm Beach, Florida, from where he broadcasted The Rush Limbaugh Show, the highest-rated talk-radio program in the United States.

In the 1990s Limbaugh's books The Way Things Ought to Be (1992) and See, I Told You So (1993) made The New York Times Best Seller list. Limbaugh frequently criticized, in his books and on his show, what he regarded as liberal policies and politicians, as well as what he perceived as a pervasive liberal bias in major U.S. media.

Mr. Limbaugh's Dramatic Radio Props:

  • Golden EIB Microphone
  • Prestigious Attila the Hun Chair
  • Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies These are often combined to form a phrase Limbaugh frequently used to introduce himself: "Firmly ensconced behind the Golden EIB Microphone in the prestigious Attila the Hun Chair at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies." These phrases date back to his days under the name of "Jeff Christie," a top 40 disc jockey in Pittsburgh. The "Golden EIB Microphone", however, is a real object, gold-plated by the manufacturer and presented to Rush.

Rush Limbaugh Famous Quotes

  • “What's the difference between a liberal and a conservative? A liberal will interpret the constitution, a conservative will quote it!” -Rush Limbaugh
  • “Conservatism is not the problem. Conservatism is the founding of this country, essentially. Conservatism isn't even really an ideology. Conservatism is just what is right, proper, decent, and moral. That's all it is.” -Rush Limbaugh
  • “The degree to which the people of America are being dumbed down on purpose every day is striking. And all for the express purpose of maintaining in power a political party [the Democrats] which seeks a permanent underclass and as many dependent people on government as possible. As many uninformed, misinformed, know-nothings as they can get.” -Rush Limbaugh
