About Ruth Bangs

Ruth Cole was born April 15, 1651, the daughter of Daniel and Ruth Cole[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
Note: this daughter Ruth Cole did not die December 15 1694. The referenced death record reads clearly that her mother Ruth Cole the wife of Daniel Cole dyed the fifteenth day of december : in the year 1694 : in the sixty seaventh year of her age[9]
November 16, 1669, Ruth Cole married John Young, the son of John Young and Abigail Howland [3] [7] [8] [10] [11] [12]
John and Ruth Young signed an agreement with Ruth's sibling's to divide her father Daniel Cole's estate on 15 Jan 1694/5 that gave the homestead to Thomas Cole. Ruth had received things in her father's lifetime and after his death received 12 lbs, 19s[13]

- John Young died about 19 Jun 1717 in Eastham, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. His estate was probated 23 Apr 1718[21]. Administration of estate granted to widow Ruth and son Jonathan. The agreement on the division of his estate was concluded on July 18, 1719[14]
On 23 Jul 1720, Mrs. Ruth (Cole) Young married a widower, Capt Jonathan Bangs, the son of Edward and Rebecca Bangs of Eastham [7] [8] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. There were no more children noted in these sources.
Jonathan Bangs died November 9, 1728[22] [4] [5]. These sources do not indicate if his widow survived him, but the fact that she is not buried with him suggests the possibility. FindAGrave suggests two options, neither of them proven. One unsourced memorial indicates June 1728, which is in the realm of possibility[23]. The other shows a woman who died in 1735 at the age of 30, who was clearly the wife of another Jonathan Bangs.
