Earl K. Boyer, 79, of Hershey, died Monday, September 30, 1996, at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon, PA.

Born August 20, 1917 in Port Royal, he was a son of the late John R. Boyer and Ada Lena Kinzer Boyer.

His wife, Helen MacConnell Boyer, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Earlene Hopkins of Camp Hill; a son, John Boyer of Bronson, FL; a brother, J. Harold Boyer of State College; two sisters, Marian Hemperly of Evansville, IN, and Dolly Pennell of York; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Port Royal High School. Mr. Boyer was a retired Air Force Veteran of WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Boyer was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hummelstown; Hokkaido Centennial F&AM Lodge No. 17 in Sapporo, Japan; the Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple Shrine; American Legion Post No. 0594, Middletown; Air Force Sergeants Association; life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 48; member and former publicity chairman of the POW/MIA group; and a member and former publicity chairman of the American Association of Boyers.

Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran, Church, Hummelstown, with Rev. Steven R. Bowser officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors.

Arrangements were handled by Hoover Funeral Home, Hershey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 850 Sand Hill Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
