About Samantha J. Throckmorton
Mrs. Samantha Hill Throckmorton, aged 86 years, widow of E. Reed Throckmorton, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. B. Pollock, Park avenue, Waynesburg, Friday morning, September 15, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Throckmorton, a daughter of Thomas and Nancy Roseberry Hill, was born July 30, 1847, in the old Hill homestead in Franklin Township, which had been in the Hill family since before the American Revolution. Mr Throckmorton's death occurred June 12, 1924. Two daughters, Miss Nannie Throckmorton and Mrs. J. B. (Alice) Pollock, of Waynesburg; a son, Howard (Fannie) Throckmorton, of Mercer, R. D.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Campbell, of Wilkinsburg; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, survive.
