Samuel was born on 22 Apr 1685 to parents Ellis Barron III and Mary Sherman.[1][2] He married Abigail Woods, who was the widow of Daniel Pierce.[1][3]

Samuel and Abigail had the following children in Groton:

He passed away on 9 Jun 1771 in Groton[2][6] and was buried there.[7]
