Samuel Chase, son of William Chase and (Abigail Hale?), may have been born 1656 at Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, and died before 4 April 1758 at Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.

Married 1699 in Portsmouth RI to Sarah Sherman (b 1682), daughter of Samuel Sherman & Martha Tripp.

Samuel3 Chase (William2, William1), of Portsmouth, RI, and of Swansea, bornat Yarmouth, died at Swansea before 04 April 1758. He married at Portsmouth, in 1699, Sarah Sherman, born at Portsmouth 10 April 1682, daughter of Samuel and Martha (Tripp) Sherman. Samuel Chase and his wife moved from Portsmouth to Swansea about 1700.In his will, dated 19 Feb. 1755 and proved 4 April 1758, he mentioned his children Martha Bowen, Susannah Buffington, Sarah Baker, and Elisha, Samuel, Eleazer, Philip, and John Chase, Samuel Joseph, Edward, andPhilip Slade, children of Edward and Phebe Slade, and his [the testator's] grand-daughters, Abigail Chase and Sarah Robinson.
