"Indenture made May 6, 1821 between Jonathan Hobson, Clerk of

Samuel Cherry of Warren, in obedience to an order of Warren Ct
attheir Oct
Term 1819, witnesses they he hereby binds Elizabeth Goodman,
infantorphan of
Samuel Goodman decd, abt age 7 yrs, to Samuel Cherry, until
shearrives to age
18 yrs, to learn the business of housekeeping. Cherry agrees that
hewill
teach her the business and that he will cause her to be taught
readingand
writing and will also furnish and provide her with good,
wholesomediet,
lodging, and clothing suitable for an apprentice, and at the end
ofher term,
pay her 4 lbs, 10 shillings and a new and decent suit of
clothes.Signed

!Note: According to his 2nd GG-dau, Helen Cherry Fisher Greene
ofPinehurst,
NC, Samuel died in 1823, killed by lightning. (Many other death
datesand
causes for death have been given by descendants of Samuel Cherry).
According to an old ltr written in 1959 in my possess, written by
NoraYoung
Ferguson, early genealogist of Warren County who was raised
inRichardsville on
the old Allen Taylor place, Samuel and Mary Ann Cherry were
bothburied at the
Taylor Family Cemetery, near Richardsville, Warren, KY. She made
alist of
burials there and they were on the list. (The tombstones could
havebeen
knocked down now in 1995.)
