In the name of God Amen I Samuell George of the County of Orange and Parish of Saint Mark....I do constitute this to be my last will and testament as Followeth . . .bequeath to my well beloved wife Patience George all my Personall Estate to Hold Possess & Enjoy the same During her widdowhood and in case she remarries and any [Imbazlement ?] of the estate appear I nominate and appoint David George and John Jones of Prince William County Executors of this my last will and testament to take the same out of her hands for the benefit of the children Except sufficient security be given and in case now waste or Damage appear I appoint her my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament During her Naturall Life and after her Decease to be Equally Divided Between my children then [??] I desire that my estate shall not be appraised During her widdowhood Item I give to my son Travis George one shilling sterling Item I give to my son Parnach George one black mare with all her future Increase and I do hereby disanull and make void all other will or wills whatsoever made by me and do Ratifie and Confrim this to be my last will and testament in WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my and seal this Twenty seventh day of November 1745. At a Court held for Orange County on Thursday the 22 Day of May 1746 This last Will and Testament of Samuel George was presented into Court by Patience George the Executrix in the said Will named proved by the Oaths of John Wharton & Jane George the Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Executrix who made Oath according to Law Certificate is Granted for obtaining Letters of Probate {there..]for in giving Security on which she with John Christopher & Thomas Newman her securities entered into and acknowledged this Bond for her due & faithful Administration of the said Decedents Estate Teste John Nicholas C Court

28 March 1740, O.S. p. 151 Ordered that James Thornton Thos: Chambles Shurley Whatley Thos Mitchell George & John Wells John Smith & the tithables of John Christopher Samuel George Valentine Morgan Wm Croucher Wm Christopher Thos: Wharton Alexr Newman Wm Pannell Wm Morton John Ransdall Luke Thornton John & Charles ffushee Edward Price John Bramham & Bryan Scisson work on the Courthouse road to the Mine run Bridge under Bryan Scisson who is hereby appointed Overseer of ye sd road And its further ordered that ye sd Bryan Scisson cause the highways to be cleared & Bridges repaired in the said precinct according to Law & that he with his said Gang help aid and assist Wm Beckham the Overseer of ye sd road from the mine run bridge to ye Wilderness run to keep ye mine run Bridge in repair. ______________________________________
