Samuel Higgins, the son of Jonathan and either an unknown first wife,[1] or Lydia (Sparrow) Higgins,[1][2] was born on 05 October 1694 in Eastham, Barnstable, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[2] Samuel was a carpenter in Eastham.[2]

He was married in Barnstable on 09 October 1718 to Mehitable Phinney,[3][4] the daughter of Ebenezer and Susanna (Linnell) Phinney. Mehitable was born on 14 August 1696 in Barnstable.[5][6][1]

Samuel died in Eastham on 25 July 1776 in his 83rd year,[7] and was buried in the Orleans cemetery where his gravestone reads:[8][9]

To Memory of Mr Samuel Higgins who Died July ye 25 A D 1776 in the 83 Year of his Age Mehitable died there on 28 May 1778.[10][2] No probate records are found in Barnstable County for Samuel or Mehitable.[1]

He was married in Barnstable on 09 October 1718 to Mehitable Phinney,[3][4] the daughter of Ebenezer and Susanna (Linnell) Phinney. Mehitable was born on 14 August 1696 in Barnstable.[5][6][1]

Samuel died in Eastham on 25 July 1776 in his 83rd year,[7] and was buried in the Orleans cemetery where his gravestone reads:[8][9]
