About Samuel Jackson
(d) Elizabeth Motte, born 21st August, 1780, married Samuel Jackson, J of Catherine Hall, a Member of the Council and Attorney General of Jamaica, their marriage taking place 14th May, 1796. This Jackson family was—none there in 1883—one of the oldest on the Island, having possessed for centuries land granted by the Crown. The family represented that of the Loyal Archbishop Juxon—of the time of Charles the First,—and possesses several interesting relics of that Prelate.
