About Maj. Samuel Mason
Maj. Samuel Mason m. 1st, June, 1670, Miss Judith Smith, daughter of Capt. John Smith of Hingham, Mass., He brought his first wife Judith to Stonington, Conn., June 22, 1670.
Maj. Mason m. 2d, July 4, 1694, Elizabeth Peck of Rehoboth, Mass., and d. March 30, 1705, at Stonington. She survived him, and m. Gershom Palmer of Stonington.
Maj. Mason held the office of major of the militia, and was an assistant of the colony, besides holding other positions of trust. He d. March 30, 1705, and was buried at Lebanon, Conn.

SAMUEL, 3rd known child of John & Ann (Peck) Mason, was born at Windsor July 1644.
He married (1) at Rehoboth 26 June 1670 Judith Smith. He married (2) at Rehoboth 4 July 1694 Elizabeth Peck (at Rehoboth but recorded Stonington). Source: Anderson's Great Migration Begins.
According to Ira Peck's 1868 book, he was a major like his father.
He married second Elizabeth Peck by whom he had 3 children. He lived 61 years.
According to the Barbour Collection, Vol. 43, pp 238-241, Major Samuel Mason died 28 November 1701.
