Samuel Morse

The latest research shows Samuel Morse i.e. the son Samuel Morse was bp 1 MAY 1603 • Redgrave, Suffolk, England and died 11 MAY 1626 • Burgate, Suffolk, England aged 23 before the family arrived in New England. He never married. So I'll create a new Samuel Morse. This is all per Robert Charles Anderson Vol 5.

Abner Morse in 1850 - lacking the resources we have now came up with a fanciful story about a son named Samuel who fought under Cromwell in England, etc. Well... there is no basis for this relationship:

"He resided in Dedham,MA. Rev. Abner Morse states that he appears to have returned to England and have served as colonel under Cromwell; to have fled at the Restoration of King Charles and "to have died at the Eastward, September 26, 1688". He had just one child, born in Dedham, 1642; Mary; she married Joseph son of John and Mary (Damon) Plimpton; this daughter with Mary Bullen.

But none of this is true. Our Samuel died unmarried in England.
