No Marker. He was a son of John Parsons and Mary Simmons.
Samuel Parsons appears in the Lee County, Virginia, tax list in 1802. John, the father, in 1803. They are the only Parsons through 1811 and in 1810 John began to pay two tithes. On presumably for himself and the other for a son who had just reached tithable age. In 1812, John pays but one tited and Williams appears for the first time. This is good circumstantial evidence that William was the son of John and this was corroborated by the death certificate for William.
The only John Parsons in the 1830 tax list was born 1800-1810. This was borne out y the 1840 list. The 1850 census refers to him as John Parsons, Sr., aged 48 b. N.C., and wife Rebecca, 45, b Va., with nine children.
In 1827, there were seven Parsons named in the tax list. All paid one tithe except Samuel, who paid two. In 1828, Samuel paid on tithe and James appears for the first time.
