Samuel Robie

HUSBAND: [F3786]. Samuel ROBIE. Born 4 AUG 1659 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire; son of Henry ROBIE [F7572] and Ruth MOORE [F7572].

He married Mary PAGE [F3787].

In 1691 Indians attacked the town of Haverhill, Massachusetts. His brother John (John ROBIE) was killed during the attack. John's wife had died just a few days previously, so Samuel and his wife took in the children and raised them as their own. Therefore, the children were often confused in the records.

He served on the jury in 1695.

He died 10 AUG 1717 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

WIFE: [F3787]. Mary PAGE. Born 21 MAR 1664-1665 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire; daughter of Thomas PAGE [F7474] and Mary HUSSEY [F7475]. She died 5 SEP 1750 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

1) Ruth ROBIE (disputed). They may have had a daughter Ruth, but she is probably their niece, the daughter of John ROBIE [F3786] and Ann CORLISS [F3787].

2) Sarah ROBIE. Birth: 27 MAR 1689, Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. She married Nathaniel BATCHELDER on 24 FEB 1716-1717 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. She died about 1771.

3) Hannah ROBIE. Birth: 26 FEB 1700/1701, Hampton, N.H. She married John TILTON on 19 FEB 1723-1724 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

4) Theodate ROBIE. Birth: 5 DEC 1691, Hampton, N.H. She married Abraham DRAKE III Marriage: 2 JAN 1711/1712, Hampton, N.H. Death: 12 APR 1783, Hampton, N.H.

5) Mary ROBIE. Born 25 NOV 1686, Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. She married Henry DEARBORN Jr. on 12 JAN 1720/1721, Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

6) Bethia ROBIE. Birth: 28 DEC 1707, Hampton, N.H. She married Abner FOGG Sr. Marriage: 10 DEC 1730. Death: 26 JUL 1773, Hampton, N.H. 7) Thomas ROBY Sr. Birth: 10 OCT 1698, Hampton, N.H. He married Sarah FOGG Marriage: 2 JAN 1727/1728, Hampton, N.H. Death: 4 MAR 1767, North Hampton, N.H. Apparently, Thomas changed the spelling of his name, and the North Hampton branch of the family (where he and Sarah settled) kept the new spelling down through 1892.

8) Bathsheba ROBIE. Birth: 2 AUG 1696, Hampton, N.H. She married Joshua LANE Sr. on 24 DEC 1717, Hampton, N.H. She died on 13 APR 1765 at Hampton, N.H. She was buried in the Pine Grove Cem., Hampton, NH. He husband Joshua LANE was born 6 Jun 1696. He was killed by lightning on 14 Jun 1766 at Hampton, NH, and was buried in the Pine Grove Cem., Hampton, NH.

9) Elizabeth ROBIE. Birth: 19 JUL 1704, Hampton, N.H. She married James FOGG Jr. Marriage: 2 JAN 1727/1728, Hampton, N.H. Death: 5 APR 1731, Hampton, N.H.

10) Huldah ROBIE. Birth: 8 MAR 1693/1694, Hampton, N.H. She married James PERKINS Sr. Marriage: 24 DEC 1717, Hampton, N.H.

11) Abigail ROBIE. Birth: 6 APR 1703, Hampton, N.H. She married Ezekiel DOW Marriage: 3 MAR 1725/1726, Hampton, N.H.
